You Are Liars: Keshi Blasts Nigeria Football administrators

The out-of-contract Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi has called the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, liars.

Addressing journalists, Keshi said the NFF lied to Nigerians about paying him his owed salaries as well as that of his backroom staff and said would expose the inadequacies of the football administrators if prodded.

“I heard also Amaju (Pinnick, the NFF chairman) said he has paid us everything, that he is not owing us. It is a lie, big-time lie. He owes us two months plus our winning bonus for the game against Sudan,” Keshi said.

“What is he talking about? Because I am keeping quiet, I don’t want to talk? Now if they want me to talk, I will start talking and let Nigerians know what is happening.

“How can Amaju, who says he is the President of Nigerian Football be lying to Nigerians? Is that how he wants to run Nigeria Football? An obviously angry Keshi asked rhetorically.

Keshi said he expected the current leadership to come out and explain to the public that the NFF is broke at the moment instead of telling lies that his outstanding salaries have been paid;

“They are owing us money they have not paid and instead of him to say, ‘okay there is no money yet or something’, he is telling everyone he has paid everything.”

In his reaction, the spokesperson for the NFF, Ademola Olajire, said that he is not aware if Keshi is still being owed any outstanding wages.

“Well, I really don’t know if we are owing him, but if we are owing him truly his salaries will be paid. We have owed and paid him salaries in the past,” he explained.

The NFF is expected to hand a new contract to Keshi for review. If all parties are okay with the contract, a final decision will be made next Monday when the Executive Committee of the NFF meets, Amaju Pinnick, the NFF Chairman, told reporters in Abuja.
