Performance: FG Meets UN Donor Agencies

The meeting was jointly organised by the National Planning Commission (NPC) and the UN System in Nigeria  to review the 2014 performance of the agencies under the United Nations Development Assistance Framework/Programme III (UNDAF/UNDAP III).

Speaking at the meeting,the Minister of National Planning, Dr. Abubakar Sulaiman, explained that the review was targeted at achieving expected results as defined in the United Nations Development Assistance Programme results matrix.

Sulaiman represented at the meeting by the NPC Director of macro-Economic, Babatunde Lawal, also said the meeting would provide a platform for steering Committee and other stakeholders to jointly reflect on the achievements, challenges and the way forward for achieving the UNDAF/UNDAP III implementation results for subsequent years.

Accordingly, he listed the UNDAF/UNDAP III defined Results Areas Performance to include; good governance, social capital development which covers (education, health and social protection), equity and sustainable economic growth ,human security and risk Management.

A statement by the Head of Information, Haiba Salisu, quoted the minister as expressing the appreciation of the Federal Government to the UN System for their coordinated approach in the implementation of their various intervention programmes in Nigeria, pointing out that Nigeria, through the NPC was ever ready to give maximum support and cooperation to achieve efficient service delivery.
