Murray: ´I am proud of achieving so much despite playing in the era of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic´

Andy Murray would have been a legend had he played during another era but that was not the case actually and he stayed under the shadow of the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic during major part
of his career.

He lost his first four Grand Slams finals and numerous semi-finals against these players but now he himself is a two-time Grand Slam champion, Olympics Gold medalist and by beating Tomas Berdych in the semi-finals of 2015 Australian Open, he reached his fourth final at the Melbourne Park and overall his eighth final at Majors.

However, Murray is proud of what he has achieved despite playing in three of the best tennis players of all time. He said, "To be in the final four times here, because I'm surrounded by guys like Roger, Novak and Rafa, doesn't look like much, but that doesn't happen that often. So I'm very proud of that."

After losing an emotional Wimbledon final against Federer in 2012, Murray bounced back to beat him in the London Olympics final after a month’s gap. That proved to be the turning point for him as he defeated Novak Djokovic in the US Open final one month later to capture his first Grand Slam. Then following year, he defeated Djokovic to win Wimbledon and become first British player to win at the All England Club after almost eight decades.
